Let me tell you how impressed I am with Qantas. Two one-hour flights, no flight announcements regarding boarding, just the boarding time on your ticket. We boarded a Boeing 737 in 20 minutes, with no assigned boarding groups, no drama, just them treating everyone like the adults we are. They fed us on both short flights, de boarded in 15 minutes and had luggage within 20 minutes of landing. They got their shit together.
Adelaide is a lovely city of approximately 1 million people. If we had to move here, this would be the city for us. Lots of amenities, slower than the other cities visited so far, walkable, okay food scene and just not as crowded as Melbourne and Hobart. We went on a city tour after we landed, went to a local market. Saw oblong grapes 🍇 that claimed to be a product of the USA, but neither of us ever saw them at home
After checking in to the hotel, we walked some more. So many of the old buildings are being preserved by putting retail at the bottom, and leaving the facade of old as is.
The symbol of Australia has the kangaroo and the Emu because they can’t walk backwards. This symbolizes Australia always moving forward. Tomorrow is kangaroo island. A long day but hopefully you follow me on Instagram as that has the most updated pics. After that, into the desert and out of communication for a few days over the weekend. G’day mates
