On November 1st I got this unexplainable rash on my arm and sent a picture to my primary care doctor back in portland.
She replied and said not to worry about it unless it spread. Well, yesterday , while touring Akaroa, it spread, big time, to my leg. Both are on the left side of my body.
Very swollen and painful, I decided to stay on the ship, as my shoe was quite tight. It looks like shingles, which a nurse that I have become friendly with agrees. And, although it is painful, not as painful as shingles. Although not itchy, I got cortisone cream and lidocaine cream from the pharmacist and am icing it down.
Neil went on a tour of the town, and the museum, and had a very good time. I am glad that tomorrow is a day at sea. Just icing the swollen area down.
The city is on a cliff, mountain, hillside with lots of funiculars. Hundreds of well to do have private finiculars. Right into their own homes.
Wellington is the capital of New Zealand. They have a lot of pride in their movie 🎥 industry, and they call it “Wellywood” and they have a sign that mimics the Hollywood sign. James Cameron is currently filming TWO Avatar movies here . Home to the National Museum, which Neil said was impressive, Te Papa Tongarewa.
Neil quite enjoyed the tour, which, evidently was provided by our travel agent. Thank You Sandy Barmak.
